The goodness of God is an attribute of God that never changes and it extends to all creations, including you and I. The goodness of God created the world. His creation is a reflection of that goodness. However, man chooses to turn away from God. God restored the goodness in our lives and broke the power of sin and death by dying on the cross for you and I. The goodness of God is who God is.
The first truth is that God’s goodness draws us to him. That restoration of who we are begin when we start to repent and know the importance of repentance and God’s forgiveness in our lives.
Romans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance in areas of sin, anger, bitterness, greed or lust. God is not here to condemn you but to receive you in his arms of love.
Psalm 145:9 The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Because of God’s goodness, we can come to him without fear. The goodness of God tells us to put aside every mask and every wall. Don’t be afraid, so that God’s goodness can flood us from inside out. Because of his goodness, we can trust him implicitly and explicitly. We can trust God completely. God is good not because of what he has done, he’s good because of who he is.
The second truth is that God’s goodness requires our praise. We praise and worship God because of who he is. We give thanks to the Lord for he is good; his mercy endures forever.
Ezra 3:11 With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord: “He is good; his love toward Israel endures forever.” And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.
Psalm 145:5-7 They shall utter the memory of your great goodness and shall sing of your righteousness.
Be thankful to God and bless this day. Praising God is not dependent on what is happening in our lives, but when we experience his goodness, we praise him and worship him all the days of our lives.
The third truth is that God’s goodness is still at work in our lives.
Psalm 23:6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Matthew 7:11 Your father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him.
Psalm 69:16 Answer me, Lord, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me.
Psalm 31:19-20 How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you. In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues.
God’s goodness still follows us. God’s goodness will work a miracle in our lives and we will experience that healing, that breakthrough, and that turning of circumstances.
God’s goodness will never fail. We trust in the goodness of God. No matter what happens, God’s goodness will take you and see you through with his grace and love. God will bring life and hope into our situations. Keep believing. God is good. Amen!
