Hi guys! Want some freshly brewed beer in an urban penthouse dining environment?
LeVeL33 is the world’s highest urban craft-brewery which presents an unparalleled dining experience complete with one of the best views of Singapore’s Marina Bay and city skyline. It even has its own elevator that shoots up non-stop from level 1 to level 33!
Here’s what I’ve tried.
First up, the Australian Bangalow Pork ($37.00) is a sous-vide Pork neck with a chewy texture topped with pickled mustard seeds and Jerusalem antichoke. This is made perfect with a tinge of miso butter to enhance the taste of the pork. If you chew every bite of the pork slowly, you’ll experience its tenderness and fragrance in your mouth.
Next, the New Zealand Ribeye steak ($46.00) is served with caramelised stout onion purée which gives the steak a unique and interesting taste while being topped off with some mustard espuma. Be assured that the chef definitely knows how to cook the steak in your perfect doneness! I like mine in medium rare. How about you?
I was pretty pleased with the main courses. What surprised me most were the desserts which tasted even better than the mains!
When I stepped into LeVeL33, I could smell a strong chocolate fragrance and yes, I reckon that it’s none other than their signature dessert “Cocoa” ($15.00) which consists of a variety of chocolate items, in particular, the fondant, chocolate pannacotta, bitter chocolate sorbet, chocolate soil and hopped ganache. This is the ideal dessert for any chocolate lovers because all of them come in bite size and satisfy all the versions of your chocolate cravings. I will be back just to eat this all over again! I swear!
Interestingly, the “LeVeL33’s Beer Ice Cream” ($5.00) is a scoop of beer ice cream accompanied with cut fruits like strawberries and blueberries. Beer ice cream tastes like beer (yes indeed!) with some creamery sweetness. It’s special, light, cold and refreshing.
As for the drinks, here’s two safe choices.
For the guys, go for a refreshing 33.1 blond lager. This is crafted from the original 1841 Vienna Blond Lager with a slight hint of fruits pour to a smooth sunshine gold hue. It is a light and smooth beer. Back then, the Viennese Brewmaster Anton Dreher presented this new brewing style using bottom fermenting yeast and even became a pioneer of all lager beers.
For the ladies, go for a classic mojito cocktail. It is a mixture of plantation 3 stars, fresh lime, brown sugar, mint leaves, crushed ice and ginger beer. This is refreshing and cooling.
What an awesome scenic dining place.
