Blessings & Prosperity for the New Year
[ONE] God wants you to be prosperous and to be in good health
3 John 1:2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that you all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. [NIV]
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. [NKJV]
A) God did not create you to be in lack.
Genesis 1:27 God created humankind in his own image, int he image of God he created them, male and female he created them.
Application: Be fruitful, multiply!
Jeremiah 29:11 for I know the plans I’ve concerning you, plans to prosper you.
B) Jesus didn’t come for us to be in poverty.
2 Corinthian 8:9 Jesus who was rich became poor so that in his poverty you might become rich.
Application: Rich is wealth, filled with material blessings. We walk in the richness of God’s grace.
C) Abundant life is not abundant lack.
Application: Grace is God’s resource available for children empowerment.
[TWO] God takes pleasure and delight in your prosperity
Psalm 35:27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favour my righteous cause; and let them say continually, let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Psalm 37:4 Then you will take delight in the Lord, and he will answer your prayers.
Psalm 1:1-3 Whatever he does, he prospers.
Application: Our blessings and prosperity really reflects the generosity of God.
[THREE] God is the one who gives us the ability to create blessings and prosperity
Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Luke 4:18-19 NKJV The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and the regaining of sight to the blind to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Application: God has the power to transform your life and break out of the spirit of poverty.
