In harmony with the iconic retail, entertainment & lifestyle destination, they seek to create a memorable and heartwarming dining experience through their rebranding in 2013. Together with DesignScape Architects, the team conceived a design concept, reflecting a sensory experience of the “Spirit of Kushiyaki”. The restaurant is washed in soothing neutral shades, sprinkled with homely décor, producing a familiarity of your personal enclave and with a theatrical view of their chefs grilling your kushiyaki on-site. With gorgeous waterfront and Sentosa island views, the 190-seater restaurant with 3 private rooms is the perfect place for families and working executives.
DRINKS – I personally have tried the CALPIS which is a cultured milk drink that has been fermented with microorganisms such as lactobacilli and other ingredients. Cultured milk drinks are known for health benefits such as aiding digestion, as well as their tangy and refreshing taste. At Shin Kushiya, they have created their very own CALPIS sodas by combining the goodness of CALPIS with fruity flavours, soda and chewy brown honey pearls.
FOOD – At Shin Kushiya, they offer the Spirit of Kushiyaki – reflecting the time-honoured traditions and culinary craftsmanship in preparing their signature kushiyaki skewers. The chefs grill the kushiyaki over Bincho charcoal with skill and attention to detail. I had the Kushiyaki Favourites Set ($29.60) which is a selection of kushiyaki favourites, salmon sashimi, chawanmushi, appetiser, salad, pickles, rice, soup, fruits and dessert of the day. This is a perfect combination for first timers at Shin Kushiya.
