Have you ever tried Ah Chew’s mango sago pomelo? It’s really cooling and mango-ish! I’m a mango lover so I’ve a soft spot for this dessert. The sago and pomelo complements well with it too. There’s also very tiny ice cubes in the dessert which you could chew on as well, making the dessert a very icy cool and refreshing one with a great tinge of mango taste.
As for the watermelon sago, it is very refreshing and thirst quenching. The sweetness from the watermelon and the fragrance of the coconut was a good match.
My experience has shown me that Ah Chew is crowded most of the time, especially during tea break time and supper time. Please be prepared to wait for a little while if you wish to try out their desserts.
Ah Chew now occupies 2 shops next to each other. Therefore, their sitting capacity has doubled. However, it would still be quite difficult for big groups of more than 8 to find seats. Moreover, you will not be able to chit chat after having your desserts as there is highly likely a long queue of customers waiting to enter.
Once you have placed your order, the dessert is usually served within 5 to 10 minutes.
I personally feel that Ah Chew is best eaten during hot weathers and a great place to sit down and take a break from all the intensive shopping areas nearby!
